ABOUT TOM SPEECHLEY
Tom Speechley is a healthcare start-up founder and investor. His primary focus is on consumer-driven health solutions, particularly within life sciences and longevity, and he co-founded SX2 to pursue these interests. Tom was an early mover in the medicinal cannabis and psychedelic medicine industry and co-founded JMCC Group to create organic products with pharmaceutical standards including an innovative medicinal cannabis nano-spray and organic psilocybin for mental health treatments. He is also interested in digital health and the challenge of applying technology to positive behavioral change. His most recent start-up has developed an AI to help individuals avoid chronic illness.
Tom initially trained and worked as a corporate lawyer in London and New York before a decade in emerging market private equity and venture capital. He has written and spoken widely on finance, investing and healthcare and guest lectured at a number of leading universities in the United States. He has been a featured speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the United Nations, the International Economic Forum of the Americas and the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank. He is the author of two books on acquisition finance and coded a series of educational software programs that were among the first used in the UK’s national curriculum on computer studies.
Tom has sat on a number corporate and not-for profit boards including the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association and Junior Achievement Worldwide. He has been a senior advisor to Endeavor.org and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in the United Kingdom.
